Behaviour issues usually show up when your horse is confused, tense and/or feeling unsafe

As a horse behavior expert, Susan specialises in identifying the underlying causes of your horse's behavioral issues.

Susan’s approach involves utilising humane and ethical training techniques rooted in scientific evidence to assist your horse in overcoming their challenges.

Throughout your work together, Susan will provide thorough explanations of her observations and the reasoning behind her methods, empowering you to understand the origins of any issues and the steps needed to address them effectively in the long term.

During our initial session, we will conduct a 1.5-hour Horse Behavior Consult. This will involve a thorough discussion to understand the current situation, followed by a behavior assessment either in person or through online video. After the assessment, we will discuss the necessary steps to progress and determine the potential number of follow-up sessions required for your horse.

Every horse is unique, and as such, each one requires an approach tailored to their specific needs. I am committed to providing honest, no-nonsense advice to ensure that our sessions are maximized for the benefit of your horse. Together, we will work towards fostering a state of happiness, confidence, and relaxation for your horse in all circumstances.

To work with me, please apply here.

I will review your application and if I belief that I am the right fit for you and your horse, I will reach out to set up a time for us to talk and get to know each other better. On that call we will decide to move forward or not.

Please note that I only work with clients who understand that the training process can’t be rushed. It’s only on rare occasions that the 1.5 hour consultation session is enough and no follow ups are needed.

If you have any questions before applying please contact me here.

If for any reason during the process you or I believe I am not the right coach for you I will do my best to refer you to a more suitable coach.

>> Success Story

Our horse, for whatever reason decided after a couple of trips on the float he no longer wanted to load.

Susan was available, at very short notice to step in and retrain him. After three sessions he was self-loading! Susan was able to explain Squids behaviour and to translate it for us to understand. She explained how we can respond to reassure him to get the right results. Making the floating experience a positive activity for Squid is the most important thing to us.

Since then, Squid has continued to self-load even in awful wind and rain. Susan was able to give us lots of useful advice to continue the training whilst getting out and about and ensuring the experience is a fun one and never to be afraid of it.

We are very grateful for Susan’s wealth of knowledge, experience and her ongoing support and would not hesitate to recommend her services.
